1. IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION

Compulsory Registration:
- Registration from December 4th till 15th of January 2024 through our website:
Registrations.belgiumopenjudo.be
- The judokas will necessarily have to fight in the category in which they were
registered. No exceptions will be allowed.
- Inscriptions limited up to 64 participants in each category.
- Price: 25,00 Euros (€ 50,00 on site)
- Herstal: 40 EUROS to fight in junior and in senior.
Only payments by bank transfer will be effective and valid. If a judoka cannot take part in the
tournament, no money will be given back during the event. However, it is possible to get
money back for each missing athlete before 14th of January. Just send an email to

• CONTROLE OF ENTRIES AND ACCREDITATION

The control of entries and issuing of accreditation cards will take place at Sport Hall Visé and
Herstal.
- on 26th of January 2023 from 17:00 to 20:00
- on 27th of January 2023 from 16:00 to 18:00
At least one team official must attend in time to confirm the entries of all athletes and
officials.
For coaches: 1 card for 1 team; 2nd card free if 6 judokas on tatami.
Extra accreditation for delegation members will be charged at 30 Euros for 2 days.

• NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

Inscriptions limited up to 64 participants in each category.
Age:
- For Men in Visé: Participating athletes must be born in 2009 (18 years in the calendar
year) or before.
- For Women in Herstal: Juniors (from 2004 to 2009) and Seniors must be born in
2009 (15 years in the calendar year) or before.

• COMPETITION RULES

a. The competition will be conducted in accordance with the latest IJF SOR, IJF
Refereeing Rules and IJF Anti-Doping Rules. Especially refer to the New Uniform IJF
Tournament System Double KO repechage (men) & pool of 3-4 judokas followed by
repechage bracket (women). We reserve the right to change the competition
system according to the number of participants.
b. Weight categories:
• Men: -60kg, -66kg, -73kg, -81kg, -90kg, -100kg, +100kg
• Women: -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, -70kg, -78kg, +78kg
c. Duration of contest: 4 minutes

• WEIGH-IN

- Official weigh-in 26 January: 17:00 to 20:00
- Official weigh-in 27 January: 16:00 to 18:00
The weigh-in will be held in the Sports Hall Visé for Men and Sports Hall Herstal for Women.
Herstal: The Friday weigh-in is valid for juniors taking part in the senior competition. (but it is
mandatory to confirm the participation during the senior weigh-in)

• TRANSPORT

From Brussels Airport (Zaventem): It is possible to book a shuttle 35 € / person / way.

• INSURANCE

Each National Federation / club is responsible for its competitors (the control on non-
pregnancy as well as the gender control are placed under their responsibility) and must

assume all responsibility for accident and health insurance as well as the civil liabilities for
their competitors and officials, during the INTERNATIONAL BELGIAN OPEN JUDO.

• Antidoping
Doping control is possible according to the WADA regulations.

• Extra
We decline responsibility in case of cancellation due to unforeseen events (force-majeur).
Only registrations to the tournament will be refunded.

5.OTHER INFORMATION

JUDOGI CONTROL
a. Judogi Control: a judogi control will be operated
according to the IJF rules prior to thefight. White and
blue judogi are mandatory.
b. Backnumber is recommended but not mandatory.

• AWARDING CEREMONY

- The organizer shall provide for the podium ceremony: Medals, gifts and prize money

(no prize money for juniors).
- The competitors wearing their white judogi (no shoes,
flip flops or socks) will stand on the podium according to
the following order 2,1,3,3. Every competitor having won
a medal has to attend the ceremony to receive their
medal in person. If a competitor is absent during the
awarding ceremony for no valid reason, they will lose the
right tohave the medal. It is strictly forbidden for
competitors on the podium to bring national flags or the
similar identification other than the one represented in
the regular manner on their equipment. Any
demonstration of religious, political, personal or
commercial sign is prohibited and so is wearing a cap or
any other head cover.

• FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLE

All National Federations, officials, coaches and athletes
participating in the INTERNATIONAL BELGIAN JUDO OPEN have
to respect and accept the authority of the officials, the Statutes,
the Sports and Organization Rules, the Refereeing Rules of the
International Judo Federation, as well as the IJF Antidoping
Rules. According to the IJF Rules and SOR Provisions(point 23.8),
individuals deemed to have acted against the IJF, its principles or
purposes shallbe subject to suspension or expulsion from the
event and/or cancellation of their accreditation cards.
